What should we do when we go to Penang?
The first thing is to visit those famous destinations :D
hmm...what are those places?
Here are the listed places that I'm planning to visit ^^
(1) Queensbay Mall
(2) Gurney Plaze
(3) Kek Lok Si Temple
- Largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia
(4) Queen Victoria Clock Tower
(5) Batu Ferringhi - a mere 45 minutes away from Gurney Drive. At night, the tourist belt comes alive with stalls selling everything from food and wooden handicrafts to silver jewellery, totes and tees.
(5) All the major heritage buildings and clanhouses in the George Town inner city
(6) Thee Kong Tua (Jade Emperor's Temple) in Air Itam
- the Jade Emperor's Pavilion is a stone's throw away from Kek Lok Si and Penang Hill Railway Station in Air Itam.
(7) Penang Hill (originally known as Strawberry Hill)
- was first cleared by Captain Francis Light to plant strawberries.
(8) Reclining Buddha (Wat Chayamangkalaram)
(9) National Park
- in Pantai Acheh
(10) Toy Museum
- in Tanjung Bunga
- it's the largest museum of tis kind anywhere in the world and the first in Asia.
(11) Tropical Spice Garden
- it's the only spice garden in South East Asia
- in Teluk Bahang
(12) Snake Temple
(13) Butterfly Farm
- in Teluk Bahang
Besides seeing, what should we do in Penang?
(1) Take a trishaw ride or walking tour of the George Town Unesco World Heritage Site
(2) Laze by the scenic Batu Ferringhi beach / take a leisurely stroll along Gurney Drive
(3) Take a cable car ride up Penang Hill and go on a ferry ride
(4) Shop at the many flea markets, pasar malam and modern shopping malls
- From the Lorong Kilit and Rope Walk flea markets to the Campbell Street and Little India traditional shopping areas and modern shopping malls like
Gurney Plaze, Queensbay Mall...
(5) Buy famous local products
- buy souvenirs for my family and friends (Annie, Steven, Lucas, WeiLiang, Jason).
(6) Visit the many different places of worship
- St. George's Church, Kek Lok Si Temple, Snake Temple
(7) Check out the nightlife i.e., Party!
- The Upper Penang Road party hotspot in George Town
(8) Relax and unwind at the many spas/or go for a traditional massage
- Rasa Sayang Resort's exclusive Chi Spa / go for a no-frills hour-long massage at the many foot reflexology and body massage centres.
hmm...wondering whether we have enough time to visit those places.
The next day is we will go to visit Pulau Langkawi ^^
